Oh man my job has completely taken over my personal life. When at work I wear LTU apparel all day, then I come home and I still wear LTU apparel. The weekend comes around and LTU is still plastered all over me! It is so strange how this university has truly become my entire life.
This is a battle that I have struggled with for quite some time. Not really sure if I am a fan of it or not. All of my friends go or went to LTU, my roomie and neighbors are all LTU alum/current student, I work for LTU, I went to LTU for 5 years, lived on campus for 4yrs. I just cant get enough of it!
My love for this school is not really an issue and my boss keeps telling me that I am overly cautious about crossing the boundary of work and personal.
So the summer is quickly coming to an end and the invitations are coming in in massive quantities. Starting to put together all of the schools that I visited last year and comparing my notes from each visit to determine what is a worthwhile visit. I’m kind of excited for recruitment this year seeing that it will be my second year in the same territory. I also wont be spending all of October in New York this year.
So now that I have been in the world of admissions for a year I have decided to start this blog up again and change the tone of it. Now it is going to be more of a following of my journeys and adventures as an admissions counselor.
Ive met so many other admissions reps and I know that they will totally be able to add and relate to the posts that are to come.
So Thank you all for following me on my final year at Lawrence Tech! It seems my stay is going to be extended, but not for education…Now that I have a full time position as an admissions counselor, finding the time to keep up with all of my blogging madness has been quite the challenge! I would like to continue to keep you informed on my journeys and provide some inspiration and fun anecdotes so travel over to my personal blog caycew.tumblr.com. I promise you it will be worth your time! I’m also on Facebook if you wanna be my friend! So for now I bid you farewell.
Ciao Mane!
So I love technology just as much as any other, but this is a little extreme! Reposted from Mashable.com
So, you love your tech and the web, but do you love it enough to permanently brand yourself with related imagery?
We’ve found 10 people that do. From corporate logos to other geeky graphic references, these folks have turned their fandom into skin art.
Have a browse through our gallery below and do let us know in the comments if you have any geeky tattoos, and why.
We like Violet Blue’s ”blogger” tattoo, and it really works with those outrageously groovy shoes!
Here at Mashable, we’re WordPress fans, but to go as far as actually getting the logo inked on your skin? Maybe not.
This cool HTML tat is a pretty unique way of branding your neck.
Apple’s colorful retro logo is the popular choice for many a fanboy, or in this case, fangirl.
Natalie Thompson’s love of open source software inspired her to permanently sport the little green Android bot on her forearm.
Stephen Hackett says his choice of Clarus the Dogcow reminds him “why [he] went to work at Apple, and in IT in general. It’s not the technology itself, but the cool things people do with it — the things that really matter.”
This Fail Whale tattoo, which adorns the skin of netizen Critter isn’t the only one we’ve seen, but it’s certainly the best.
You can’t exactly “reboot” a tattoo, so hopefully this guy is happy with his skin art.
You just know he’s got the happy Mac symbol on his other leg…
In addition to his array of ports, Joe Tech’s barcode tattoo actually scans.
Is this for real? If so, it looks like someone is learning a hard lesson about the fast-changing face of the social web.

So about that whole blogging thing! haha I have not done it in quite some time. Probably because at my summer job that is what I do. I blog, LOTS!! feel free to check out what I write about at the Core3 Solutions blog or the Technology blog that I write for the Oakland Press on behalf of Core3.
Outside of working at Core3 this summer I have still been working a few hours a week in the admissions office. The whole concept of being done with school forever has not quite set in yet. Im sure it will become a little more real once all of my friends are back into town going to classes again, but for now…
So my first week has come to an end and now for a long weekend! Though the first week seemed really lame I learned A TON! the skills that I have already gained will be exceptionally valuable. I have already started to notice some of the keyword techniques and marketing strategy stuff within blogs that i read and on the web. I can now start to apply all of this to my website cayceowensthrush.com.
The people I work with have been pretty great! Im having a lot of fun with them and the atmosphere of the office is really relaxed and overall a great place to work. Next week I believe we will be working on some e-mail marketing and I still need to finish up some articles and tie up some loose ends on a design project that I started on Wednesday.
Overall I have enjoyed my first week evening though I am stuck in the whole learning curve thing. Eventually when I have a grasp on all of this marketing stuff it will pay off!
So yesterday was my first day at my new job. It started pretty boring and ended…well pretty boring. The most fun part was going to lunch with the executive team! For the most part of my day it was spent dong paperwork, viewing presentations, and reading my marketing manual.
It was kind of expected that the first day be pretty lame seeing that there is always a ton of paperwork to fill out and presentation to watch. Learning about the company and finding out all about their rules, regulations the way they function and the standard procedure on things is pretty much what you should expect on a first day. So now that it is tuesday and I have just completed my second day of work are things any better?
Slightly. I started working on some projects for clients doing some blogging for Core3 and for one of the clients. You would think that blogging is really easy…well it is if it for personal usage….not so much for professional purposes! Im really hoping that this starts to pick up and I get to work on more exciting stuff! We shall see what tomorrow brings I guess!
So today was probably the last time that I will have a conference call with the Education Dynamics people! It was a good time…or as good of a time as talking to the air and being responded to by a random phantom voice (aka Molly and Katie). Yet another successful year on the experience! I will remain active through the summer and kind of stepping back in responsibilities for the most part to let Krysta lead the team. All is well and as usual we kicked major butt!
Though it is only an internship for the summer it is still a job! I was offered a marketing internship at Core3 Solutions. I start on May 24th and will be working about 36 hours a week there and continuing to work in the Admissions office at LTU on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 4pm to 7:30 so if you need anything from me that is when Ill be in the office!!
So after all of my concern and hard work the past few months I kicked butt ending the semester with a 4.0GPA and a job (even though it may be temporary) and things just seem to be going in a very good direction.
